Ok, so what's with skinny jeans being the new thing? I was largely unaware of this until my sister brought it to my attention, and sure enough, there they are, in store fronts everywhere. Skinny jeans. As if American's weren't self conscious enough about their ever expanding waistlines, the fashion industry has seen fit to emphasize this by making jeans CALLED skinny jeans, which by nature, oinly look good on skinny people. As a black person who is not really all that large, but owns a healthy pair of thighs, skinny jeans would only serve to make me look disproportionately ridiculous. Certainly not skinny. I know that the center of the fashion universe is supposed to be Paris, and people in Paris I guess are skinny. Kudos to them. I need someone to market "normal jeans" or "healthy jeans". How about "American jeans"... the kind with a $5 coupon to McDonald's in the back pocket?
